is another persons treasure....
This was found on the curb Sunday evening just mere hours before we got a 2'' torrential downpour. It was around 8pm on Sunday when I finally got the urge to do my weeks worth of grocery shopping and on my way back I spotted the cabinet. I knew it was a sewing machine cabinet as I drove by and figured it would make a nice end table if there was nothing inside. Image my surprise when I went to lift it out of a bunch of other junk and it was heavy! Inside I found the manuals and original attachment box with all attachments! I spent this evening getting it cleaned up. This weekend I'll remove it from the cabinet and have it serviced. Even though I love my Pfaff, it will be nice to have a second machine around if friends want to come over and sew. It couldn't have found a better home!
Hi, just found your blog (somehow--I can never figure out where I clicked over from!) I LOVE that sewing machine--it looks just like my mom's. I can't believe someone would just throw something like that away. You rescued it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I can't believe somebody would just throw it away--but lucky you! Glad to hear somebody else brings home trash (my husband always gives me a hard time--but my closet is filled with nice hangers that somebody was sending to the landfill!).
ReplyDeleteWow, what a find!
ReplyDeleteWow, SCORE!
ReplyDeleteWow, you go, LeeAnn!! Poor little Singer... left out in the rain. :( I'm sure it's really singing now that it's been rescued. :D
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely! I have a Singer from the 1950's that I found at a thrift store for around $35, that works better than my new one. Amazing :)

You lucky girl! And what a lucky machine!
ReplyDeleteYou must be living right, girl.
ReplyDeleteWow lucky you! Now you have a spare sewing machine just in case you need one.
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! What a great find! I love that blue color - and a case and all the manuals???
ReplyDeleteCan you and I go out for a drive sometime? You've got great finding mojo!
: )
Serious score!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable!! And it came with all the attachments... what an awesome rescue. <3
ReplyDeleteWow, nice find. It is hard to find a machine that is as heavy as the older machines. They are made with all metal gears while the newer models are mostly plastic and they wear out or break easily.
ReplyDeleteHang on to it! It will probably last forever.
what a great find in the chocolate bias tape! so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome!!! I'm jealous...I always watch the side of the road for finds (does that make me stingy?) but I never find anything good. But I wanna come over and sew!!!
ReplyDeleteThe sewing gods were looking out for you! Congratulations on your find!
